My name is Carlotta. I write tiny stories.

I grew up a little in Australia, Monaco, Hong Kong, Germany and England. We settled in England because my dad loves toast and marmalade, my mum loved Fawlty Towers and the spiders are normal-sized.

I live outside north west London (for now) and I have the best of both worlds: city and green. If I could, I'd also have mountains.

I have a First Class BA in English & Creative Writing and I'm a freelance writer and editor. I co-founded Synaesthesia in 2013, an online literary and arts magazine, with my pal Annabelle. We publish short stories, poetry and creative nonfiction alongside art and photography. We encourage writers and artists to use their senses, criss-cross their hands and mouths and ears. Get a little mucky, mix things up a little.

I write short stories and nonfiction – mostly on travel, sometimes food and books. I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2015 for this story on WhiskeyPaper and my stories have been read aloud on Mr Bear's Violet Hour Saloon. I like writing about bad women and good women, about loving hard and fast, America, places I've been and places I want to go.

I'm training as a roller derby girl and writing about it. You can find me on Twitter or Instagram, probably talking about my butt bruises.
